This really explains the mass appeal of Jesus, methinks. In more ways than one. :)

Fulfilling my role as purveyor of all things silly on this blog. Behold: Good Friday.
Worshipping, Worshipping, YEAH!
Yep, that’s about right. Thanks, FAILblog.
Poland (90% Catholic) is constructing the world’s largest Christ statue…. and it is creepy as hell:

My favorite quote is by the priest responsible:
“Previously when asked why he decided to erect the gargantuan saviour, he said, “It was Jesus’s idea: I was just the builder”
‘Cause, you know, Jesus was such a fan of giant statues and other forms of idolatry (John 5:21- Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen).
At least there was one voice of reason:
———————————-
Justice Elena Kagan, in a blistering dissent — her first dissent since joining the court — said Monday’s decision “devastates” the ability of taxpayers to challenge government actions that favor religion.
In reality, she said, there is no difference between a tax credit and a direct appropriation. “What is a cash grant today can be a tax break tomorrow,” and the court’s decision, she charged, “offers a road map — more truly, just a one-step instruction — to any government that wishes to insulate its financing of religious activity from legal challenge.” ———————————-
Wowza!
Thanks, Onion. You rule.
P.S. This one’s for you, Shane!
