Atheists Seek Chaplain Role in the Military
I saw this article in the New York Times the other day about atheists in the military. I must admit, I was reasonably shocked to hear of such an outspoken atheist population in the military, given my experiences with current/former military members. It’s pretty much All Jesus, All The Time. I would think it would be really hard to live with these people day in and day out as a nonbeliever. Not sure that they’ll ever gain legitimacy in the chaplaincy, but an interesting notion nonetheless.
